friends with benefits

i'd love to say i give people the benefit of the doubt
yet lately, that benefit far from deserved.

my little 10 year old cousin is staying with me this week, this should be so interesting. she's a fireball, probably what i was like when i was little. she's been texting me all day.

fire

i like fire. i like playing with fire. i like the smell of fire.

but driving along the 91 west this morning was way too much to handle. the flames started earlier this morning and were continuing to burn brush and come close to homes & the freeway. lord, protect everyone involved in taming your nature.

i feel i'm in a fog. my minds so blurry. nobody is out on the street in long beach today, its quiet and surreal. surreal. that's a good word to describe today.

different versions

i've been involved with a bible study with women of my church. never before have i heard more life touching stories and analyses of the word. its absolutely incredible. I'm quite sad next week is the last week for a while.

the past 3 weeks have been in the book of Ruth. She is an incredible woman who never backed down from her convictions. As with all of us, she faced many trials and circumstances, yet God was with her through everything - orchestrating events to illustrate his faithful love.

this week i've been looking at verse 3:18 in several versions. what a glimpse of giving everything up to the Lord, from our relationships with others to our relationship with our father. what a slap in the face!

The Message:
Naomi said, "Sit back and relax, my dear daughter, until we find out how things turn out; that man isn't going to fool around. Mark my words, he's going to get everything wrapped up today."

NASB:
Then she said, "Wait, my daughter, until you know how the matter turns out; for the man will not rest until he has settled it today."

English Standard:
She replied, "Wait, my daughter, until you learn how the matter turns out, for the man will not rest but will settle the matter today.

New Living Translation:
Then Naomi said to her, “Just be patient, my daughter, until we hear what happens. The man won’t rest until he has settled things today.”

be still. calm down. relax.

voting and designs

i voted today, for the first time ever! i'm glad i did, even though i dislike both of the main candidates. i only really cared about one of the propositions. i know that's so unamerican.
i know that with whatever outcome, god's got some sort of plan. that's all i got on politics.

my dad just told me he's writing a mystery novel.

i've been obsessed lately with ideas of design, i just want to make everything over. top design on bravo is my new fav show, surprisingly because i didn't like last season's. i'm rooting for the bald guy, i like what he does.

some rooms from the show i liked:

but what is that on her head?

roasted daily.

i thought i'd get rid of my blog...

obviously i missed it. be back soon.

i want some!
